Statement of Work:

FEMA Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) Customer and Data Services (CDS) Program. CDS IT Services scope includes: Application Sustainment/Maintenance and Enhancements, Requirements Management, Design, Development & Testing.

Task Description:

  • Installation, configuration, and administration of commercial middleware/third-party software (COTS) in Redhat Linux and Microsoft Windows environments.
  • Resolving developer-submitted requests for day-to-day administrative tasks, enhancements, and product issues
  • Routine patching, software updates, and remediation of security scan findings.
  • System integration of applications across multiple nodes/cells and remote resources.
  • Troubleshooting software issues, application issues, and user support issues in all environments.
  • Support application development, deployment, and design requests within team and from other teams.
  • Health check and performance monitoring of the applications and systems.

Required skills/Level of Experience :

  • Experience planning and executing large data migrations (100TB+) between datacenters and cloud environments
  • 3+ years experience designing, developing, and integrating AWS cloud services within enterprise environments
  • 3+ years experience developing Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and/or Terraform
  • 3+ years experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Selenium, Docker, Chef, Puppet, JIRA, etc.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, high-performance, and deadline-driven engineering team
  • Ability to work well within a team; good interpersonal relational and collaboration skills
  • Coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices; includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
  • Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  • Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols.
  • Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government.

Nice to have skills:

  • AWS certified at Associate level or higher
  • 3+ years experience administering Windows and Linux operating systems in AWS cloud environments
  • 3+ years experience with architecting and deploying IBM WebSphere systems architectures
  • 2+ years experience applying blue-green and canary deployment methodologies to ensure seamless application updates and minimize downtime.
  • Ability to handle escalations and friendly resolution of hardware and software problems
  • Ability to learn quickly and use new complex technical concepts and resolve issues in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to discuss complex technical concepts with technical staff and business stakeholders in a simple, straightforward manner
