Title: Cloud Migration Engineer Lead Sr

Location:Chicago, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Atlanta, GA; Cincinnati, OH; Dallas, TX; or other WFH location

Responsible for leading the end to end application system development and maintenance on large complex enterprise wide technology platforms.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Understand on-prem .Net and Java applications & services and dependencies to design for Cloud migration with disaster recovery (DR)

  • Creates automated Docker images (Windows and Linux) deployment using Helm charts

  • Updates CI/CD pipelines or creates new pipelines necessary for cloud migration

  • Implement improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems.

  • Refactors configuration and caching of applications to leverage cloud and cloud native architecture

  • Support integration and data teams in integration testing

  • Creates automations necessary for cloud disaster recovery

  • Responsible for delivery of application cloud transformation with disaster recovery

  • May performs technical design reviews and code reviews.

  • May provide production support, incident, and problem management

  • Participates in Agile team planning, demos, backlog refinement, and standups

  • Ensures user stories acceptance criteria/ definition of done are met.

  • Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements, leads requirements gathering meetings and reviews designs with the business.

  • Anticipates broad technical change and ensures that company technology stays ahead of the curve.

  • Prioritize projects and make trade-offs with respect to the enterprise systems changes based on broader business needs.

  • Understands the entire architecture for a major part of our business and is able to articulate the scaling and reliability limits.

  • Develops and defines application scope and objectives and supervises the preparation of technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.

  • Performs technical design reviews and code reviews.

  • Ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan.

  • May participates in developing the multi-year technology strategy for critical areas of the business that may encompass multiple systems.

  • Partners with technical and non technical stakeholder to identify the long term technical trajectory of the technology infrastructure.

  • Creates architecture and anticipates future technology needs.

  • Leads the conversations internally about the direction of major areas of the technology, drives wide-team consensus to the adoption of this direction, and uses this direction when engaging engineers.

  • Reviews and monitors initiatives for end to end impact and coordination.

  • Participates in review and decision making for enterprise solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study a minimum of 9 years experience; multi dimensional platform experience, expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • 5-7 years of hands-on Experience with multiple programming languages like Java, ASP .Net, and C#, Go.

  • 1-3 years of experience in cloud native solutions deliver or migrating solutions from on Prem to Cloud re-host and re-platform on AWS or Azure or GCP.

Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies

  • Experience mentoring others drive teams to achieve results, lead multiple or large projects and provide troubleshooting supports strongly preferred.

  • Good working knowledge with databases like MongoDB, Redis, SQL Server, Sybase, etc.

  • Working with various design patterns and building with component architecture for re-architecture is a plus.

  • Experience with cloud stack development in AWS/Google, etc.

  • Experience with Redhat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or other Kubernetes based container services and related automation.

  • Strong understanding and experience of CI/CD process, Helm charts for on prem as well as on cloud deployment is a plus.

  • Incumbent should be a self starter and provides troubleshooting support.

  • Team player, influencer, and good communicator

  • Good knowledge of cloud migration with robust security management and application monitoring process is a plus.

  • Understands cloud networking, load balancing, identity policy management, firewalls, etc.

  • Working with Elastic Elk stack, dashboards like Grafana, Prometheus is a plus.

  • Understanding of Service Mesh Istio and other tools like Jaegar, Kiali, etc. is a plus

  • AWS certifications are a plus
